However, Goertzel’s proclamation wasn’t universally accepted within the AI community. Skepticism arose, hinting at potential ulterior motives behind his claim. It’s essential to note the possibility of advertisement for his company, which primarily aims for ‘Artificial General Intelligence’ (AGI).
Opponents of the 2031 timeline argue that both AGI and the Singularity are far from becoming a reality. Primarily, this skepticism stems from the absence of robust scientific foundations that definitively predict when the Singularity might materialize. But what precisely is the AGI pursued by Goertzel’s company?
